LADY FIST GUIDE
BORDERLANDS 2
The LADY FIST
The Lady Fist is a Unique Hyperion pistol that you can get from completing a side quest in the Arid Nexus, and it’s a favorite among players with crit-based builds due to its high crit damage modifier.
As a quest reward, farming this gun isn’t much of an issue, so let’s focus on what makes it such a powerful weapon.
What Makes the LADY FIST Strong
The Lady Fist has a whopping 800% critical hit damage multiplier, making it one of, if not the strongest crit weapon in the game. On its own, it can deal an absurd amount of damage as long as you can consistently hit crit spots.
Because of how weapons in the game interact with one another, you can also carry this gun around as a crit damage booster rather than a main weapon. For example, you can fire with Unkempt Harold and, before its projectiles land, swap to the Lady Fist so that each bullet benefits from the 800% bonus.
TIPS
- Always aim for crit spots if possible
- Sustained fire increases its accuracy
Advantages
- Extremely high critical damage multiplier
- Comes in varying elements
- Easy to get
Disadvantages
- Low damage if you can’t crit
- Initial accuracy is terrible
How to Get the LADY FIST
To get the LadyFist, you simply have to finish the Uncle Teddy side quest in the Arid Nexus – Badlands. You can start this by interacting with the Fyrestone Bounty Board.
The quest itself is straightforward, but you are given two choices at the end. Mail the blueprints to Una instead of Hyperion and you’ll be rewarded with the Lady Fist.
Best Farming Method
- Preparing the Save
- Progress through the “Uncle Teddy” quest
- Check your Lady Fist
- Before accepting the quest reward, check if the gun’s stats are to your liking
- Don’t accept the reward yet
- If you’re not satisfied with it (e.g. you want a different prefix/element)
- Force close the game (Alt+F4 or dashboard in consoles)
- Reload the game and turn it in again
- Inspect and repeat until you get the version you want
- If you’re satisfied with it
- Accept the Lady Fist
Best Prefix for the LADY FIST
- Win-Win: This is the best prefix for the Lady Fist, as it will increase its dreadfully low base damage. As long as you can consistently hit crit spots, having a higher base damage will cause your DPS to skyrocket.
- Dynamic: Increases fire rate. With good aim, this can also lead to absurd DPS performance.
Best Builds for the LADY FIST
SALVADOR
One of the best Lady Fist users is Salvador, as all of his builds revolve around his Gunzerking ability. While Gunzerking, having the Lady Fist in Salvador’s left hand will cause his other weapon to inherit its 800% critical damage modifier.
Paired with a strong weapon, like the Unkempt Harold or Badaboom, you can melt even the toughest bosses in no time. It can also provide immense healing if used alongside a Rubi or Grog Nozzle. Read this Salvador build for more info.
Axton
Most Axton builds love using explosives, but in situations when they aren’t ideal, the Lady Fist shines as a powerful primary bossing and mobbing weapon. Whenever you run out of grenades or rockets, or if enemies aren’t susceptible to explosions, Axton can swap to a Lady Fist and still benefit greatly from skill nodes like Battlefront and Onslaught. You can also allocate more points into Impact for more gun damage. See this Axton build to learn more.
When the LADY FIST is NOT Ideal
- Melee Builds: The Lady Fist does not contribute anything to melee damage, so pure melee builds don’t benefit from it at all.
- Non-crit Playstyles: If your playstyle or build doesn’t focus on hitting crit spots, or you struggle to consistently hit them, the Lady Fist’s usefulness drastically falls off.
Compared to other Weapons
LADY FIST vs UNKEMPT HAROLD
While both of these weapons have powerful synergies together, they also technically compete with each other as pistols. The Unkempt Harold is unmatched in raw burst damage and getting fast second winds, but the Lady Fist can outperform it against bosses as long as you can consistently land hits on crit spots.
LADY FIST vs PIMPERNEL
The Pimpernel is one of the best weapons in the game, but with the caveat that it requires some wonky aiming to maximize its critical damage. Conversely, the Lady Fist is extremely straightforward and can potentially match its DPS, making it the ideal choice for players who don’t want to deal with the Pimpernel’s unusual bullet splitting mechanic.
